Herbert Integrated Farm Management Project (HIP)
Summary
The Integrated Farm Management Project aims to improve farm productivity, profitability and WQ outcomes for the GBR through a more integrated approach to the whole farm management model. Historically most whole farm management models for sugarcane have focused primarily on the management of the crop, and in particular nutrient inputs to grow the crop. This project looks to expand on this by focusing on and addressing key constraints and gaps identified by HCPSL, the Herbert Integrated Project (HIP) Working Group, and project growers across five key areas of whole farm management:
Five key areas of whole farm management:
1. Crop management
2. Soil management
3. Biosecurity management
4. Natural asset management
5. Farm assets and financial management
